Default Question for the Gixxer guys

Has anybody had a problem with the fuel light staying on in a 2007 GSXR 1000? I have done some research and everything I read is the thermistor sensor (from my understanding has something to do with the float??) Anybody have any ideas or has had this happen to them. Your input is greatly appreciated it.
Im getting ready to buy one and that is the only problem. I know a new pump is about 400 bucks and a used one from ebay is about 120 bucks. I wanted to see if a used one is worth it and if so if anybody had one laying around they wanted to get rid of. Let me know and thanks for your help.

A pump would have nothing to do with a fuel level warning light.

No floats in modern sportbike gas tanks. The thermistor just senses that it is wet and transmits capacitance in pf to a diode switch, activating a relay to turn on the light.
In English.... When there is about 1/8 (depending on bike make/model) a tank of gas left....the thermistor (sensor) gets dry and the above explanation causes the fuel low light to come on.
More than likely.....if someone had the tank off the bike or had it lifted up, they either did not unplug the connector to the fuel pump/thermistor switch and pulled it up too far and broke/pulled a wire somewhere or.....just plain failed to get it reconnected properly. I did it to my first bike (GSXR) and fixed it on my buddies GSXR.

The thermistor sensor is part of the fuel pump ***embly. It can be replaced seperately but it's more money then a used pump ***embly is. So that's why he was asking..

My life is not a journey with the intent of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather I will skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out loudly proclaiming... WOW What a Ride!!!

I've had an '07 and '08 never had an issue. The cluster is easy to take out, just one bolt that holds it on and yank on the cluster and it pops off then unhook the harness.
Also have two manuals for them as well you can have.

Hey I appreciate it. I can definitely use the manuals if you have no need for it. Let me know how I can get it from you. Please email me chiefage@aol.com
